IISJ youth festival: A unique experience
JEDDAH: Boy students of the International Indian School Jeddah (IISJ) organized their first youth festival here recently featuring a variety of educational, cultural and entertainment programs that won praise from both teachers and parents.
Dr. M.S. Karimuddin, member of the Higher Board for Indian Schools in Saudi Arabia, opened the event that aimed to develop the extracurricular talents of students.
He commended both students and teachers for putting in extra effort to make the festival a success.
Principal Syed Masood Ahmed was happy with the students’ marvelous performance and reiterated his school’s readiness to create more avenues for Indian children to show off their various skills.
“Like in India, our children here do not get enough opportunities to display their skills and interact with others. I am happy to tell you that IISJ will provide them with a platform for socialization and developing their positive skills,” the principal told the gathering.
“The main difference with this youth festival is that it’s fully organized by the senior students of the school. We teachers gave them only guidance and support. I am really amazed by their performance,” said P. Noufal, headmaster of the IX-XII block.
The program began with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an by Abdul Moiz Moosa followed by its translation by Abdul Hannan. Ajwad Haneef ignited the festive mood of participants by presenting a beautiful Hindi song, “Kya Huwa Tere Wada,” which reminded the audience of the late great singer Mohammad Rafi.
Every program looked different and attractive as the children had done a lot of work to make it a memorable event.
A program dedicated to disabled children and another on peace and harmony not only entertained the audience but also conveyed meaningful messages.
As Daud Arif promised in his welcome speech, IISJ’s first youth festival was a unique experience.
